It’s not best for AOE/cc/tankiness/survivability. This is a long way of saying that I don’t think that boney boi build is necessarily the best, but it’s def the easiest because it can deal a lot of burst damage. IMO the real problem as you point out is that once you get into the high level buildcrafting minions don’t make sense b/c their sacrifice bonuses can be stacked too high with skills and aspects and the skills and aspects to keep them alive aren’t worth sacrificing the space to run a unique item or a key passive aspect. If you build for dot/aoe you’ll end up in blight shadowblight. If you build lucky hit/tank you’ll end up in blood. Only speaking for necro but if you build for crit/vulnerable you’ll naturally spec into a boney boy. I kinda think that depending on build you gotta just pick the mechanic you want to exploit and build to it and you’ll naturally end up in a meta.
